Painting a new Foal from Life.

Spring is such an exciting time for those of us watching for new members in a wild horse band.  To see a young colt begin to move from the wobbly leg stage to the tearing around doing big laps and jumping up in the air is down right fun! This mare and her new filly were resting on the other side of the river from where I was sitting. Every few minuets they would move around. I wanted to express the feeling of movement in this piece and how close this little one stayed by Mom's side.
